Description

Focusing on the key opportunities to improve health and care, our annual conference is the leading event for system leaders and practitioners to discover, learn and celebrate ways of delivering better health and care services.

Our highly respected policy researchers and leadership and organisational development experts work on the event to bring you evidence-based content that will inspire you to improve the services you’re responsible for. Over two days, the sessions will share insight and lessons on these key areas:

the future of population health and prevention programmes
the development of integrated care systems (ICSs)
the relationship between the NHS and the public
funding for health and social care.
Day one: Population health and prevention

On day one we will be focusing on population health and prevention. Sessions will explore the work we’ve been doing at The King’s Fund on our vision for public health and on the ways in which integrated care systems are developing and delivering population health across health and care.

There will be an opportunity to learn from examples across England on implementing integrated care systems, embedding prevention as a key priority and strengthening partnerships between local partners, including local government, the NHS, housing, education, fire and rescue services, the police, and the private and voluntary and community sectors.

Day two: Supporting an effective health and care system

Sessions on day two will be looking at two of the key drivers shaping health and care policy and practice; public opinion and funding. Speakers will explore our work on the relationship between the public and the NHS, what drives it, what might need to change, and the policy and practice around how public perspectives are being incorporated into planning and design of services. We will also look at issues around funding for the NHS and social care, and discuss the implications for the NHS and social care following the 2018 Budget.
