About
RCPCHStart guides you as you prepare for completion of training and practice as a new consultant. It assesses your abilities in relation to clinical decision making as a new consultant and helps you to address any gaps that you may have in your training.

If you belong to a Grid sub-specialty, you may have to take the assessment at a specific session (Spring or Autumn).
You do not need to do any ‘revision’ – the scenarios should be examples of your ‘day-to-day’ work. You will probably find it helpful to familiarise yourself and keep up to date with:
NICE guidance
GMC guidance on confidentiality, consent, capacity, duty of candour, colleague in difficulty, answering complaints, safeguarding
consider going through your drug charts with a pharmacist.
You can bring food and drink with you, pens and paper will be provided, but you might want to bring a highlighter.
Your feedback report will appear in your ePortfolio account about six weeks after the assessment.
