The RCP and Wessex Physicians’ joint ‘Autumn Update in General Medicine’ is a regional conference for consultant physicians, trainee doctors, SAS doctors and physician associates.
This 1-day event delivers sessions from leading clinicians which look at the key issues facing healthcare and how to deliver better healthcare services, including:
speciality developments in hepatology, oncology and rheumatology
new models of staffing in acute and general medicine
complex clinical challenges on the acute medical take
an open forum session with Dr Andrew Goddard, president elect, Royal College of Physicians
prize winning lecture celebrating 500th anniversary of the Royal College of Physicians
Venue
The Autumn Update in General Medicine will take place at St Mary’s Stadium, Southampton. The venue has excellent transport links with complimentary parking for delegates attending on a first come first serve basis. There is full accessibility throughout.

The RCP and Wessex Physicians’ Autumn Update in General Medicine programme will offer both a clinical and non-clinical perspective on some of the latest topics relevant to the region and nationally.The event also offers the opportunity to meet with your local Wessex RCP regional advisers and training representatives.
The Wessex Physicians Club will be offering a 50% discount on RCP fees, subject to availability. The criteria is below:
1. You must within the following career stage:
ST3 – ST7 Medicine trainee (linked to the JRCPTB) attached to a Wessex Medicine Programme
You must be attached to a Wessex Medicine Programme and currently working in a hospital based in Wessex
