This meeting aims to inform and raise awareness about the importance of effective cancer control in Low and Middle income countries (LMIC) and the magnitude of the disparities and issues that currently exist.
Attend to listen to a range of eminent speakers as they provide insights to their respective fields in these settings. Key international healthcare organisations including the International Agency for Research on Cancer, the Union for International Cancer Control and Kings Health Partners will be represented.
You will also hear first-hand accounts from Healthcare professionals delivering cancer care in LMICs and there will be opportunities for interaction and discussion with speakers and other experts in this field.

Prize: £250 for the winner of the oral presentation
Open to: Any scientist or healthcare professional working in a non – governmental organisation in the field of global cancer control
We would like to invite submission of abstracts describing a piece of collaborative research, in which the applicant has been significantly involved, in the field of global cancer control focusing on the benefit to people living in low – middle income countries (as identified by the world bank group).
The work can be clinical or scientific in nature
The work may have been previously published or presented, but not before 2017
Word limit: 400 words including background, methods, results and discussion
The judging panel will include oncologists and experts in the field of global cancer care, who will consider the originality and impact of the work on the quality of care for patients with cancer in low-middle income countries.
The winner is required to attend the ‘Building collaborations in global cancer care: From fragile conflict ecosystems to emerging economies’ meeting on Monday 19 November 2018 and their travel expenses and accomodation will be covered by the Oncology Section.
