To ensure you have the correct qualifications stipulated by the University to commence the Level 7 module, once your application is received, a member of the education team will contact you within 5 working days.

This module will enable healthcare practitioners to gain the necessary knowledge and skills to provide sound educational experiences for learners in a clinical environment. During the course, you will develop the competence to design, plan and manage learning experiences for groups of learners or learners on a one to one basis.

This module offers a flexible method of learning to meet the educational and development needs of practitioners who are involved in teaching individual and/or groups in any public, private or voluntary healthcare environment.

Successful students will typically:

Critically analyse adult learning theory and its application to clinical training and learning
Evaluate a range of learning styles and discuss the impact these may have on a learning session
Discuss the use of emotional intelligence in a teaching context
Explore a range of teaching styles to extend repertoire, using peer support and feedback
Utilise reflective learning to explore development as an effective mentor and teacher
Apply skills in measuring the effectiveness of teaching and facilitiation
This course is validated by the University of Hertfordshire.

This module is delivered by blended learning, with study days to support the online course. Please note that if low numbers of students book onto this module we may cancel study days at short notice. The university registration end date is set at 6 weeks before the start date of the module. Late applications can still be processed and will be considered on an individual basis.
