Description
The course is aimed at senior trainees, fellows or consultants wishing to learn the basic skills of wrist arthroscopy or develop their skills further tackling common conditions and disorders.
This course will cover:
Arthroscopic portal & external anatomy,
Arthroscopy set-up, Radiocarpal & Mid-carpal portal placement
Systematic approach to assessing joint and ligaments
TFCC debridement and repair and loose body removal
There will be 2 delegates per limb and a ratio of 2 delegates to 1 faculty
NB – If delegates on a limb move at a faster pace than the programme other practicals are available. e.g. Volar portals, capsular shrinkage for ligament instability, styloidectomy, Tightrope 1st CMCJ suspension (not arthroscopic but kit available)

8.30 Lecture – External anatomy + Radiocarpal portal anatomy
9.00 Video – Radiocarpal anatomy during arthroscopic procedure
9.15 Practical RC portal 3-4, 4-5, 6R,
10.45 Coffee
11.00 Lecture – MC portals and anatomy
11.15 Video – Midcarpal anatomy during arthroscopic procedure
11.20 Practical MC portals probing and assessing each joint
12.30 Lunch
13.30 Lecture – TFCC tears and repairs
13.45 Practical – FB removal, probe TFCC + central tear debridement, dorsal and foveal
17.15 Questions and debrief
17.30 Close
(Refreshments are available throughout the day therefore the afternoon coffee break is flexible and at the delegates discretion)
NB – If BOTH delegates in a pair move at a faster pace than the programme other practicals are available such as capsular shrinkage for ligament instability, DCSS repair and volar portals
(I.E. IF YOU AND A COLLEAGUE SIMILAR LEVEL COME AS A PAIR YOU WILL BE PLACED TOGETHER AND BE ALLOWED TO ADVANCE AT YOUR OWN PACE)
