Description

Dear Colleagues,
It is a great pleasure once again to invite you to the 11th Royal
Marsden Pain and Opioid Conference. This follows on from
last year’s very successful 2-day conference.
Opioids still form the mainstay of many types of pain for both
cancer and non-malignant pains. Although there is evidence
for their effect, opioids also are associated with significant
side effects in the short and long term. This day will examine
these varied aspects of opioids from targeting multiple
receptors to a detailed examination of adverse gastrointestinal
effects. We will also hear up to date reviews on opioids for
non-malignant pain, addiction, the use of opioids at end of
life and in paediatric practice from experts in these fields.
The programme aims to update practitioners with useful and
informative facts that will keep their opioid knowledge fresh
and contemporaneous.
We do hope you will be able to join us for this exciting and
challenging event.
Kind regards,
Dr. Paul Farquhar-Smith
