The British Orthopaedic Trainees Association is excited to open bookings for the BOTA Educational Congress 2018.
Free event: Please note that £50 for general admission alone is a deposit and will be returned on registration at the congress.
BOTA members only event: Please note that we shall be verifying active BOTA membership status on registration.
For Foundation Doctors / Trainees
Please complete the booking form to secure your place at Congress. The conference fee to the value of £50 is a deposit and will be refunded once the conference has ended and we have confirmed your attendance. The pub quiz and dinner are extra and are non-refundable.
Please note Eventbrite have an admin fee which cannot be refunded.
Educational Sessions
There are several sessions that are only open to specific trainee grades and have a maximum number of delegates. Allocation to these sessions will be on a first-come first-serve basis. For sessions that are over subscribed, a waiting list will be kept and delegates will be informed closer to the time if they are able to attend a specific session.
Sessions Include:
Basic Science FRCS VIVAs: Come and be grilled on basic science in preparation for the FRCS.
BOFAS Basics: How to survive your foot and ankle job or just a general on call.
BOFAS FRCS VIVAs: All things foot and ankle for the exam.
Preparing For A Consultant: Workshops covering all aspects of consultant practice from revalidation to private practice.
Junior Workshops: Tips, tricks and the boring bits. Bring your portfolio along.
Zimmer Biomet Periprosthetic femoral fractures: Seminar and workshop with Mr T Petheram covering theory and practice of managing these injuries.
Zimmer Biomet Proximal humeral fractures after ProFHER: Seminar and workshop with Mr J McVie covering theory and practice of managing these injuries.
BBraun The painful TKR: Seminars on allergy and biomechanics in arthroplasty
Medical student day: A day of theory and practical for medical students.
In order to ensure the smooth running of Congress it will not be possible for delegates to switch sessions once they have completed their registration form.
Please note, if you apply for a session that is not applicable to your trainee grade e.g. ST4 applying for the Consultant workshop and that session is over subscribed, a trainee of suitable grade will be given preference.
BOTA reserves the right to move delegates to different sessions at any point during the Congress
