Description

Join us as we extend awareness and educate attendees on some of the most sensitive and complex issues within the intellectual disability field.

We’ve pulled together an extensive range of experts to tackle and provide authoritative comment on a set of complex and sensitive issues related to gender, health safeguarding and intellectual disability.

Self-harm, safety issues, gender dysphoria, transgenderism, gender identity disorder and behavioural difficulties are all modern day pervasive terms. However, how men and women with intellectual disability are clinically supported to deal with challenges associated with such conditions within both health and social care settings, is often overlooked.

Distinct services, such as gender dysphoria for men and women with intellectual disability will be amongst the key presentations provided. The predominant underpinning theme and main context for the event is safeguarding.

Speakers will share their expertise highlighting both research and practical suggestions as to how to clinically manage this complex topic.
